(...) Anonymity is a practice of dissolving identity that unites the two issues of gender and gentrification. In the case of gentrification, promoting social leveling is a necessary

condition for the progress of the gentrification process itself; while for the gender issue, anonymity is a solution to ensure in conditions of danger at least to survive,

even at the expense of personal freedom of expression.

In both cases, anonymity translates into an act of renouncing one›s identity,

not so much as a personal choice, but rather as a collective social pressure that hinders

the path of growthing and expressing of a personal identity. In the installation ANONIMATO, identity is presented as an ambiguous practice of dissolving:

a porous, temporary, limited, but above all dry figure; devoid of roots and depth, lacking clear definitions, insignificant and lifeless; but also an identity characterized by an ego that forgets itself, that does not reflect on what happens to it and on what it perceives; all around in silence.
