The site-specific installation ALIVE for the windows of the Museum of Man and Earth in Sofia aims to transform the museum space into a container of meaning.
The installation features graffiti on fabric, ropes, fingers and suspended stones that reproduce a chorus of voices in space, a hymn to the true essence of democracy which is,
as written on one of the voices "a revolutionary truth in human relations".
Before the word "democracy" became common usage, the ancient Greeks used two terms to indicate the condition of equality necessary for a good community life: isogoria (equal right to speak during the assembly) and isonomia (equality of all living beings).
And these are our two absolute freedoms, which this "hymn" to democracy is inspired by.
In a current historical context where the word - democracy - has today lost all connection with its true nature, because it is manipulated and abused, the installation focuses attention on the primordial nature - the essence of its meaning.
